Locking Hatch for Landscape & Lawn-Care Trailers
Keep crew gear locked up at every stop.
Landscapers lose trimmer line, fuel, and hand tools from open or unlocked trailers. Add a locking hatch to your enclosed landscape trailer for quick access to string trimmer line, blower fuel, hose reels, or a charging cord for battery equipment — and lock it before you move to the next yard.
Popular DIY Uses
- Trimmer line and small-parts access
- Charging cord for battery mowers, blowers, and trimmers
- Water hose or spray-rig line pass-through
- Lockable access while the crew is spread out on a property
Which size? The Large door gives more room to reach in for spools and fittings. Run multiple keyed-alike Small doors for a crew trailer.

Landscape Trailers — FAQ
Can I charge battery lawn equipment through a locking hatch?
+
Yes — many crews pass a charging cord through the hatch so batteries charge on a shore or generator cord while the trailer stays locked. Follow the battery maker’s charging instructions.
Which size should I buy?
+
Both rectangular doors use a 4-7/8" wide opening. The Small door needs a 5-1/8" tall opening; the Large door needs a 6" tall opening for a little more room to reach in or pass bulkier plugs and fittings. If you want more than one opening, the Small 2-Pack and 3-Pack are keyed alike.
What tools do I need?
+
A drill, a jigsaw or oscillating multi-tool (or a step bit and nibbler for sheet metal), a tape measure, exterior-grade sealant, and the right screws for your wall. Print our true-scale template so the cut lands exactly right.
