EV Charging Cord Pass-Through for Garages

Charge your EV with the garage door closed.

Route your EV or Tesla charging cable through a locking hatch in the garage wall so you can charge outside without leaving the garage door open. Always follow the charger manufacturer's instructions and local building code.

Important: Always follow the charger manufacturer's instructions and your local building code when routing a charging cable through a wall. LockingHatch is a pass-through access door — it does not replace proper electrical installation.

EV Charging — FAQ

Is a locking hatch approved for EV charging?

+

LockingHatch is a pass-through access door, not an electrical component. Always follow your charger manufacturer’s instructions and your local building and electrical code when routing a charging cable.

Which size should I buy?

Both rectangular doors use a 4-7/8" wide opening. The Small door needs a 5-1/8" tall opening; the Large door needs a 6" tall opening for a little more room to reach in or pass bulkier plugs and fittings. If you want more than one opening, the Small 2-Pack and 3-Pack are keyed alike.
